Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Conclash but were afraid to ask
Why aren't you calling it the Dead Wars anymore?
We changed the name to Conclash to better reflect the event. "Dead Wars" was a great name for the first year, in which players faced a huge army of undead, but we're not going to be doing that this year. "Conclash" is a combination of the words "Con" and "Clash" and is a play on the words "Convention" and "Clash".
Where will the event be held?
Conclash V is planned for the Provo Towne Center Mall in Provo, Utah. This is tentative and the venue may change. The address is:
1200 Towne Center Blvd
Provo, UT 84601

When is Conclash V?
Conclash V: Aurelian's Assault is planned for Friday and Saturday, May 14-15, 2027, with the main game on Saturday, May 15. These dates are tentative and may change. We'll post updates here and on We Geek Together's social channels as soon as they are confirmed.
What is Conclash at Sea?
Conclash at Sea is a separate Conclash event that happens aboard a cruise ship as part of the same season of the story. It runs March 6-13, 2027. Aurelian's forces are raising an undead army to reinforce his fleet, and the outcome at sea decides whether that Undead Tide reaches Kingdom Grand at Conclash V. Cruise details and registration are handled by Decks & Dice Voyages.
Is the game taking place 2 days?
No, the game itself is only taking place on Saturday. In previous years, seating started at 3 p.m. and the game ran from 4-8 p.m.; 2027 times will be confirmed closer to the event. The other times of the event will be open to other games, panels, and activities.
What comes with the ticket?
The ticket includes a seat at the game, as well as extra goodies like dice, lanyards, and items to commemorate the event.
What is your refund policy?
We do not offer refunds after May 14, 2027. Please plan accordingly before you purchase.
How can I catch up with the lore?
Conclash takes place in the living campaign setting of Spearfall. We've put togeher a special website to help you catch up with all the lore and history of the world: Spearfall.com. We also have free adventures you can download to get involved in the story before the event.
Can family and friends come to the mall even if they don't have a ticket?
Of course! Those two days, we will offer many free and open experiences at the mall such as gaming, vendors, stage exhibits, live music, food, and other activities that anyone can enjoy free without tickets.
Where can I see the vendors and sponsors?
We publish the confirmed vendors and sponsors on our Vendors & Sponsors page. The Conclash V roster will be updated as partners confirm. If you have questions about partnerships or future events, email info@wegeektogether.com.
How do I sign up to be a Captain?
Captain applications are not open yet, but they will be soon! Check back here or follow We Geek Together on social media for updates on when captain applications open.
Is it a competitive game? Will there be PVP combat?
It's cooperative. Every squad is defending Kingdom Grand against Aurelian's army, and the three divisions (Land, Sea, and Air) feed each other: wall ballistas give the Air tables covering fire, harbor supply caches resupply Land and Air, and Air spotters hand Tactical Advantage to the Land tables. All three fronts contribute to the same victory.
Are there different factions like last year?
The factions of Spearfall still exist in the world, and your character can be a member of any of them. For Aurelian's Assault, squads are organized into three divisions matching the three fronts of the battle: Land (infantry and trench warfare outside the walls), Sea (naval combat in the harbor), and Air (dogfights above the city on gliders, pegasi, and airships). You pick your division when you register.
Will there be VIP guests like last year?
This remains to be seen.
What will registration be like?
This year's registration will be slightly different from the previous years. Dungeon Masters will register first, and then players can sign up to join their table.
How do I know where I'm sitting?
Seating will be assigned by division. At registration, you will sign up for a table which has a unique name, and you can find your table by going to your division's zone (Land, Sea, or Air) and finding the table with your squad's name on it.
I have a group of friends who want to play together. How do we get the same table?
During registration, you choose which table you want to play at. When choosing, please select all the tickets your group needs; either have all your friends buy at roughly the same time or elect someone to buy everyone's tickets and pay them back.
I DON'T have a group of friends to play with? Where can I sit?
Choose any table that you see that is open but has other people already sitting at it.
Do you need Dungeon Masters?
YES! We can't do this event without Dungeon Masters! Dungeon Masters will also get extra loot and goodies for registering!
When will adventures be available for Dungeon Masters to look over?
We expect to release the Dungeon Master packet no later than April 2027. There will also be a Discord channel for Dungeon Masters to use to communicate and ask questions.
What are the rules for character creation?
Conclash-only players will create level 5 characters using the 2024 Player's Handbook rules. Players in the weekly Spearfall Season 5 campaign can bring their verified characters (up to level 10) through Dice Outpost. Full details and guides can be found on our Player Instructions page.
What if I can't make it to Utah in person?
You can still participate! We have a free remote play adventure module you can download and play with your friends from wherever you are. If your squad succeeds, you'll choose a supply package to send to the players at the main event — and NPCs will hand those supplies out in Provo. Learn more about Remote Play
